Trailblazers Depart: A Historic Goodbye for the School's First Year 11 Pupils

The Year 11 learners have officially left school after a busy and memorable week filled with exams, celebrations and farewells.

Following their final exam on Wednesday 24 June, learners enjoyed a well-deserved trip to Flamingo Land on Thursday. The day was packed with excitement as learners and staff rode roller-coasters, explored the zoo and spent quality time together creating lasting memories. At times, it felt as though they were in Madagascar as they spotted a variety of animals around the park. The day was made even more special as everyone came together to celebrate one learner's 16th birthday.

The celebrations continued on Friday with the Leavers' Assembly, where learners and their families joined staff to mark the end of their school journey. During the assembly, learners were presented with certificates and leavers' files, and everyone had the opportunity to share final goodbyes and reflect on the many achievements and memories of their time at school.

Everyone is incredibly proud of everything this year group has accomplished. Their hard work, resilience and positive attitude have been a credit to the school. As they move on to the next stage of their lives, Gilbert Ward staff wish them every success for the future.

You have been a fantastic year group, and everyone knows you will go on to achieve great things. Good luck, Year 11 – everyone will miss you!
