Explore Pathway
The Explore Pathway lead is Matt

Our Explore pathway is:
-
for pupils who need minimal transitions and consistent staffing. Pupils who need to develop key relationships and need consistency and familiarity.
-
planned by class teachers
-
sequenced linked to themes such as 'The Big Why?', to expose students to a rich variety of stimuli and provide opportunities for lateral progress and over-learning.
-
delivered through a static 'tutor group' class based approach with minimal transitions and a core staffing team both in the class and across the pathway to provide familiarity and build consistent relationships across the pathway. Support staff are assigned either 'tutor group specific' where this support staff member is attached to the tutor group but may support across the pathway in different ways such as delivering an intervention as directed by a teacher or 'pathway support', where they are responsive to pathway needs. This is directed by the team and dependant on collaborative working and continuous reflection.
The delivery of the curriculum is an inquiry based approach to all subject teaching with cross-curricular approaches. The delivery is class based with one key teaching team with some minimal planned transitions between projects of inquiry, based on pupil interests in order to build resilience.
