Achieving Arts Award

Gilbert Ward Academyis thrilled to announce that their first group of twelve students have successfully completed their Discover Arts Award.

The Arts Award is a unique qualification that enables young people to engage with the arts while developing their skills as artists and creative leaders. As part of the programme, the pupils explored a range of creative disciplines, including techniques in art, 3D design, and textiles. They also carried out research by studying an artist of their own choice, deepening their understanding of artistic practices and inspiration.

Everyone is incredibly proud of the creativity, dedication, and enthusiasm shown by all pupils involved. They look forward to building on this success by supporting more pupils to develop their artistic talents as they work towards the Explore entry level qualification.
