Year 10 and 11 as part of the Asdan FoodWise course have been investigating different methods for making cakes. These methods included creaming, all-in-one, rubbing-in, melting and whisking.
They made a number of cakes using these methods including:- cheesecake, Swiss roll, scones, school cake, Victoria sponge cake, carrot cake, Biscoff blondies, brownies, Easter cornflake brownie cake, etc, and then compared the taste, texture, preparation/cooking time and appearance, explaining which method they preferred and why.
