Gilbert Ward Shines at Northumberland FA KS3 Football Tournament

Key Stage Three puipils from Gilbert Ward Academy enjoyed a memorable and action-packed day at the Northumberland FA football tournament, competing against teams from eight other schools across the region on Thursday 19th March.

Across nine fiercely contested matches, Gilbert Ward Academy delivered an outstanding performance. The team secured seven wins, with only one loss and one draw, showcasing both skill and resilience throughout the tournament.

The squad’s attacking strength was on full display, with Mason leading as the tournament’s top goal scorer, supported consistently by Ben D, who assisted each of Mason’s goals. Additional strikes came from Shaun P, Jack, Lucas, and Brian, each contributing a goal over the nine games, highlighting the team’s depth and teamwork.

Teachers and supporters praised the players for their fantastic effort, sportsmanship, and positive attitude both on and off the pitch. It was a great day out for everyone involved and a proud moment for the academy.
