The pupils from Gilbert Ward Academy made a remarkable impact at the Wanderer's Tournament held at the Northumberland FA grounds in Wallsend, showcasing their skill, stamina, and school spirit.
Competing in fast-paced small-sided games lasting just eight minutes each, the Year 8 and Year 9 teams demonstrated tactical brilliance and athletic endurance, winning an impressive eight out of ten matches.
The excitement was high among the pupils, who were proud to represent their school in the competitive event. Their performance was not only a testament to their training and teamwork, but also to their determination and enthusiasm.
Among the standout players were Ben D and Ben C, who each netted six goals, earning them the title of top goal scorers for the day. Additional goals came from Bradley, Kevin, Jack, Dan, and Mason, contributing to the team's overall success.
