Gilbert Ward Academy is a special school academy which opened in September 2023. We provide 80 places for children aged 11-16 with SEMH and/or Autism, and are currently at capacity.

All pupils at the academy will have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

All places are commissioned by the Local Authority, Northumberland County Council. Admissions are also considered from North Tyneside Council, Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council.  Please contact your SEN team for further information.

Please be aware that we do not offer places directly and cannot discuss individual cases.
