Physical Education (Foundation Subject)

Return to Subjects

Physical education is a subject that helps pupils develop their physical fitness, health, and well-being. Pupils participate in a range of physical activities, such as games, gymnastics, athletics, swimming, and outdoor adventure activities. Pupils learn how to perform different skills and techniques, how to apply tactics and strategies, how to work as a team or individually, and how to follow rules and regulations. Pupils also learn about the benefits of physical activity for their physical and mental health. Pupils are assessed on their performance, attitude, and behaviour in physical education at each key stage.
