Welcome to our school!

We are a special school that provides a high-quality, inclusive and personalised education for pupils aged 11 to 16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and autism spectrum condition (ASC). We cater for pupils who have an education, health and care plan (EHCP) or are undergoing an assessment for one.

Our mission is to create a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment where everyone is valued, respected and empowered to achieve their full potential. We do this by offering a broad and balanced curriculum that is tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of each pupil. We also provide a range of interventions such as the Thrive Approach and Positive Behaviour Support to help the pupils develop their social and emotional skills and well-being.

Our vision is to be a leading special school that makes a positive difference in the lives of pupils and their families. We aspire to be a school where pupils are self-aware, understanding, responsible and empathetic in their interactions with themselves and others. We also want our pupils to be motivated and inspired to learn and achieve their best, as well as prepared and equipped for their future education, employment and life.

We are ambitious for our children, and we believe that they can overcome any barriers or challenges they may face. We have high expectations for their academic progress and attainment, as well as their personal and social development. We see social and emotional learning and development as equally important as academic learning and development. We recognise that our pupils need to develop not only their knowledge and skills, but also their confidence, resilience, creativity, and happiness.

Our values are based on what research and evidence have identified as essential for social and emotional learning and development. These competencies include self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills. We embed these values in everything we do at our school, from teaching and learning to behaviour and relationships. We also encourage our pupils to do the right thing because it's the right thing to do.

We are very proud of our school community and the achievements of our pupils. We work closely with you, as parents and carers, and other professionals to ensure that every pupil receives the best possible education and care. We also welcome you to visit us anytime you want to learn more about our school and what we do.
