Food Technology (Foundation Subject)

Return to Subjects

Food technology is a subject that helps pupils develop their practical skills, knowledge and understanding of food preparation and nutrition. Pupils learn how to select, prepare, and cook food safely and hygienically, using a range of ingredients, equipment, and techniques. Pupils also learn about the nutritional value of food, the dietary needs of different groups of people, and the environmental impact of food production and consumption. Pupils are assessed on their planning, making, and evaluating skills at each key stage.
