Science (Core Subject)

Return to Subjects

Science is a core subject that helps pupils develop their curiosity, understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Pupils study biology, chemistry, and physics, and learn to use scientific methods and processes to investigate phenomena and explain concepts. Pupils also learn to evaluate evidence, make predictions, and draw conclusions based on their observations and experiments. Pupils are taught to use appropriate terminology, units, symbols, and diagrams to communicate their scientific ideas. Pupils are assessed on their scientific knowledge and skills at each key stage.
