Parent-Teacher Evening

13th Jun 2024

We understand that as parents, you have a multitude of commitments, and it's essential for you to have ample notice for events that concern your child's education and development. At Gilbert Ward Academy, we prioritise clear communication with our parents to ensure you have the opportunity to engage actively in your child's educational journey.

We are pleased to inform you of the upcoming Parent-Teacher Evenings scheduled for the academic year. These evenings provide a valuable opportunity for both you and your child to meet with their teachers, gain insights into their progress, and discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

The dates for these evenings are as follows:

  • Tuesday, 14th November
  • Wednesday, 6th March
  • Thursday, 13th June

What to Expect

At Gilbert Ward Academy, our approach to education is founded on the principle that every child is unique, and their progress should be measured against their individual capabilities. We firmly believe that progress is not solely academic; it encompasses a holistic view of your child's development.

During the Parent-Teacher Evenings, we will focus on several key areas to assess your child's progress:

  • Attendance: Regular attendance is crucial for your child's overall growth. We will discuss your child's attendance record and explore ways to improve if needed.
  • Behaviour: A positive and respectful learning environment is essential. We will discuss any concerns or commendable behaviour your child exhibits in school.
  • Academic Progress: We will review your child's academic achievements and discuss strategies for further improvement or challenges they may be facing.
  • EHCP Outcomes Progress: We will discuss the progress your child has made towards their EHCP outcomes.

How We Measure Progress

It's important to emphasise that we understand that progress looks different for each child. At Gilbert Ward Academy, we celebrate all achievements, no matter how big or small, and we commend your child's efforts to improve and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

How to Prepare

We encourage you to mark these dates on your calendar and make every effort to attend the Parent-Teacher Evenings. Your active participation and open communication with our teachers play a pivotal role in your child's educational success.

If you have any specific concerns or topics you would like to discuss during these evenings, please do not hesitate to inform us in advance so that we can ensure a productive meeting.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in your child's education. Together, we can continue to nurture their growth and development.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Warm Regards,
